Munay-Ki third initiation: Harmony Rite - working with archetypes

Updated: Feb 10, 2023

Harmony Rite connects us with seven archetypes that include four spiritual animals - Serpent, Jaguar, Hummingbird and Eagle that reset our instincts to be able to maintain physical and emotional integrity and Guardians of the three mystical worlds - Upper, Middle and Lower. These Guardians guide our evolution, encourage us to heal our past wounds and guide us towards a healthy and auspicious future.

What are archetypes?

We define archetypes as the primordial consciousness of nature that contain qualities and therefore have a personality that is associated with a face and form in human consciousness. We receive each of the archetypes, i.e. we "install" them in one of the energy centers in the body in the form of energy seeds. Each archetypal animal expresses a different nuance of energy and teaches us different qualities.

Archetypes of spiritual animals

The Serpent is the archetype of a healer in different cultures. It teaches us how to shed our history the way she sheds her old skin so that new skin can grow. The Serpent represents the primary life force, the one that rests deep in our being and knows the way back to the Garden, to the place of innocence. It reminds us how to walk filled with beauty on the belly of Mother Earth. Gently, belly to belly.

The Serpent archetype represents knowledge, sexuality and healing. The Serpent represents the primordial connection with the feminine principle and symbolizes fertility and sexuality - the essential force of life that strives for union and creation.

Jaguar is a big cat that is the guardian of the life force of the jungle. It strengthens our instincts. Being at the top of the food chain, it teaches us to have confidence in life and to be fearless. Jaguars can see in the dark and guide us to explore our inner demons to overcome our neuroses and traumas. The Jaguar knows the way over the rainbow bridge to the dimensions beyond death - so it invites us to live with courage.

Jaguar restores and transforms life in the rainforest. It represents sudden transformation, life and death. The energies of life and death are part of the same canvas. All that is not transformed, disappears. What is constantly renewed and transformed remains. Jaguars are Guardians of the Portal of Death. Jaguar helps us to tear apart what needs to die in us so that the new can be born. Jaguar transforms heavy and negative energies into Light.

Hummingbird is a small bird that has the ability to fly thousands of kilometers in search of warmth, flowers and nectar, thus achieving the impossible. Hummingbird gives us the courage to say YES to our calling and passion - what enriches our soul, but also adds value to the lives of others. Once we are touched by the energy of this archetype, we are pushed into our own epic journey that ultimately leads us back to our source, where Spirit is born. Hummingbird energy helps us to venture on a great journey despite all odds being against us. When we don't have enough money, time or knowledge for what we are going to try to do, Hummingbird provides us with the courage and leadership necessary for success.

Eagle is a bird that nests in high places maintaining a view of the wide landscape as well as details with its sharp vision. At that level there are no obstacles, only opportunities to soar higher, to see with even more wisdom. This archetype pushes us out of the nest to learn to fly wing to wing with the Great Spirit. Eagle helps us find a vision that will guide us through life. His eyes see both the past and the future, which helps us to know where we came from and who we will become. The eagle helps us create a new and more favorable destiny for ourselves filled with meaning and purpose.

Guardians of Mystical Worlds

The Guardian of the Lower World is the ruler of life and death, the one who renews the world and who harmonizes the Lower World - a chaotic dark place that contains all creative potential. The Guardian of Middle World is the guardian of the dawn, the one who brings the day and the Morning Star. It organizes our relationship with the Middle World. Once we enter into a relationship with the Guardian of Middle World, we no longer have to manage our daily lives. The Guardian of the Upper World is the organizing principle of the Upper World, one that steps outside the framework of linear time, stops time, and establishes the heavenly order. Establishing a relationship with the Guardian of the Upper World allows us to recognize and embrace our destiny.
